Peter, I understand your point about rent seeking. The cost of school inherently regulates output for many professions. There are way too many lawyers graduating and being certified for either the available steve jobs drugs or work demand. People are suing their schools over that (ridiculous).
Rent seeking is not the reason lawyers and doctors are regulated.
People can look out for themselves to the extent that they know what they need. I’m a contract attorney who represents people who start their own businesses. People in this class are bright and good with language and very motivated to know what they need in a contract. They do pretty well coming up with language to cover the basic sections they need. It’s the sections they don’t think of including (right to terminate half-way if they don’t get paid, no obligation to re-perform the work at no charge, etc) that really cost them. Most of my clients come in because they have botched a contract they did themselves and are hurting with a bad outcome.
Florist licenses are absurd. Legal and medical services are complex. The cost of bad outcomes in legal and medical services can be huge. The cost of an ugly flower arrangement ($0? You get your money back?) It’s obvious if you have a bad flower arrangement. It’s not obvious if you have the wrong pour-over trust for your estate and your heirs, or the wrong operation for your liver.
The costs for giving the wrong service for the legal or medical customer are latent and not patent and the cost of having people look out for themselves in complex service situations are probably not acceptable to society as a whole. They are never acceptable (after the fact) to the person whose life is ruined.

Sherlock Holmes Movie Music

There has been an interesting evolution of the musical scoring of movies in recent years as musical scores for some movies have become so epic that they’ve nearly become the modern equivalent of classical music due to their ability to stand completely on their own and separate from the movie itself. One great recent escapist film is that of “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” and one interesting facet of the film is that it’s not only the villain (Professor Moriarty) that likes classical music but also the hero (Sherlock Holmes) who enjoys the music as well.
In the film the two adversaries both have a love of the same music by the same composer and this comes into play in the dialogue of the film between the two and even inserts itself cleverly into some of the props and devices used in the very visually appealing and graphically interesting period action adventure. A few of the classic artists that appear in the film include Schubert and Mozart which likely required little investment on the part of the producers since those works are in the public domain and they didn’t have to buy out music to obtain the tracks.
The soundtrack score itself to the film is also fairly fantastic and includes quite a lot of fun elements with Hans Zimmer putting everything from waltzes to fiddling in it and is a great score that includes many familiar thematic elements of the first film for an appearance in the second film but with greater flair.

Will There Be a ‘Thor’ Sequel?

With the recent success of the big budget summer action spectacular ‘Thor’ fresh in the minds of the producers of the film, they’ve been busy casting the actors and hiring the crew for the film and it would seem that the recently hired director for the second installment of the franchise decided to drop out of the project. Director Patty Jenkins, who is best known for the Charlize Theron film ‘Monster’ that was made in 2003 and released in 2004, was originally hired to direct the ‘Thor’ sequel but she decided to drop out of the project.
The film did decently well at the box office although it wasn’t a smashing success. Some of its biggest attention has been through the rental market and through downloads on Channel131 where the money that it didn’t make in theatrical release was made back when people became interested in the film due to the recommendation of friends. It’s likely that the dropping out of the director won’t have that much impact on the start date of the film’s production since the producers of the film will want to get the movie out to theaters on time whether there is an attached director or not.
The script apparently isn’t actually done and the lead actor of the film, Chris Hemsworth, has been busy trying to finish his part in the upcoming film ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ and will immediately start work on the movie ‘Rush’ after that so the lead star is tied up for a while with projects anyway.

Being a lecturer in the university is one thing that has made me to be very interested about things that are not even being covered in the course that I am teaching. This is because these days students have a lot of questions that they ask and they need answers, so to make it special ensure that you know even those things that do not matter for the sake of your students and also to make yourself learned and prepared for the changes taking place in our day to day lives. I had no idea that there was the existence of search books isbn services online until a student mentioned it to me wanting to find out if it is possible to find isbn number of the books that we were using and be able to locate them online so that it will be easier for them to study online than use the books all the time.
